Rimworld animal age1/28/2024 You can have an animal with a life expectancy of 1 year live for 10+ years in your colony without any issues. I don't think this is enough to matter for animal diseases if you are willing to use industrial meds. Their immunity gain speed starts dropping slowly until it reaches a floor of 50% at 50% over their max life expectancy (so age 15 for something that has a life expectancy of 10). Heart attacks can almost always be treated successfully if you start trying right away and use meds. Their chance for a random heart attack rises from 1 in like 99999 days to 1 in 300 days (so once every 5 years on average once they are above their life expectancy). On their birthday there is a very small chance to develop an age related condition, like frail or bad back. but I don't know if I'll ever be able to.Once a pawn reaches their life expectancy a few things happen (these start happening a little before at lesser rates): Still barely know what I'm doing with mods, but I hope my ADHD riddled brain can eventually learn enough to get to grips with how Rimworld works, and eventually edit things enough to improve mods that are languishing full of issues that the authors or maintainers don't want to deal with anymore. Numbers higher than 1 just boost fertility further. The fertility seems to be a scale (linear?), so for example if 14 is "0" and 18 is "1", they'll start gradually getting fertile from 14 to 18, so 16 would be 50% fertile. Every age is customizable, this preset is just from the Kurin race. In whatever the race.xml file for your race is, add the reproduction section here: I then thought to check out the defs for the Ageless gene from Biotech, which allows for pawns to remain always fertile through the hediff, but this has other unwanted side effects.ĭoes anyone know of any mods or methods that could potentially allow me to change this? Thank you!īeen 4 months, but, you get this figured out since then?įor anyone who barely knows anything about modding googling this stuff, I found a resolution if a race doesn't have fertility set that should work if the author hasn't redefined the "humanlike" race section with custom options that have an issue with setting ages (like Rakkle). I've tried dabbling directly with hediffs, but unfortunately the and modifiers are hard limited by the aforementioned biological curve. I first off tried just adding the fertile gene, but this didn't do much. This is obviously not ideal, so I was wondering whether anyone knew of any ways to change this. The game currently uses the age/fertility curve to calculate fertility as given in the wiki - I've just started an Elvish colony based on LOTR using Jecrell's Lord of the Rim - Elves, which adds a new race of elves who have much extended (infinite, actually) lifespans, but they still follow the vanilla fertility curve. r/RimWorldStreams - For all of your videos and streams needs r/RimWorldTales - /u/srgrafo's Rimworld Comic Series r/RimworldSwap - Swap saves with other players r/ShitRimworldSays - /r/nocontext posts about /r/RimWorld r/RimworldArt - Posts about Rimworld Artwork (not fanart!) r/Rimreddit - Colonists playing only on a single planet r/RimWorldPorn - High Quality Images of Rimworld Colonies No discussing pirated versions of the game.
